Margaret Louise (Escher) Nichols

Margaret Louise Nichols, 81, of Union Mills, Indiana passed away Saturday, June 4, 2016, at Miller’s Merry Manor in La Porte.  Margaret was the loving daughter of the late Virginia Fox Escher and Alois Escher, born September 2, 1934 in Chicago, Illinois.

Wife of her beloved husband Willard Nichols, who she married on July 11, 1953 and leaves behind.   Loving mother of Penny Mrozinski of La Porte, Indiana; Virginia (George) Pool of La Grange, Texas, and Robin Nichols who preceded her in death in 1992; fond mother-in law of Kathleen Nichols of Union Mills, Indiana; cherished grandmother of Scott (Melissa) Mrozinski, Nathan Mrozinski, Danielle (Mike) Ekovich, Darren (Melissa) Nichols, Jerrilynn (Jake) Wade, Tobby (Jennifer) Schweizer, Brandun (Amy) Schweizer; proud great grandmother of Kaeli, Lily, Robyn, Nora, Aidan, Michael, Quinn, Eli, Kourtney, Alexis, Pipar, Tatum, Tayler,  Colton, Roman, and Preston; and dear sister of Ann McGuire-Rowe of South Bend, Indiana, Judith Carter of Union Mills, Barbara (Leo) Froh of Abilene, Texas, Betsy (Dennis) Jones of Birmingham, Alabama, and Kathryn Revor of Wylie, Texas. 

Margaret was a member of the Hanna United Methodist Church and a founding member of the 4H Horse and Pony club where she held different offices over the years. 

A celebration of life will be Saturday, July 2nd at 11am at Hanna United Methodist Church.  Frank L. Keszei Funeral Home, ESSLING CHAPEL, 1117 Indiana Avenue, La Porte, Indiana is in charge of arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hanna United Methodist Church, 101 West Hopper Street, Hanna, Indiana 46340.
