I'm heartbroken learning of my friend's passing. Steve and Lynn were such an important influence in my life. Steve and Lynn took me in and provided so much suppprt at I time in my life when I really needed it. I watched them and their love for Stephanie and David and admired their love for their children. Steve would give the shirt off his back for anyone that needed it. His dunebuggy days encouraged me to become a mechanical engineer. I think back to the days of Bobby Watkins, Jim Staley, and many others who really enjoyed each other's company. Steve was very smart and worked hard for his family. I always thought of him when coming back to LaPorte for a visit. Unfortunately I thought time wasn't on our side for a visit so there were times I didn't stop 'cause 10 minutes wasn't enough. The last time we hugged was after Lynn's passing. It sucked the life out of Steve and I saw the hurt in his eyes. He gave me another lesson...don't forget what you work for isn't as important as enjoying life as you go. If you try to save it, it just may not be there when you want it.
May you Rest in Peace my Friend

To Ed and the entire family:
I was very sad to read of the passing of Steve. Though I didn't know him, the loss of any family member is very hard to deal with. Thank goodness you will have the strength of family and close friends for support. I pray that everyone will take comfort in the knowledge that Steve is not in any pain and while I know that you are sad that he left, please know that he also will be celebrating in a new life as he continues to continue to watch over the family.
Tears are the price we pay for loving someone.
Thinking of you and the family in this difficult time.
