News of Shirley's death has just reached classmates from St. Patrick's High School.
My sympathy to Jude and to her children. The legacy of service to her "other" home town must be a source of pride and joy to you all. There are several of us from the graduating class of '55 who started in first grade with your wife and mother. No one of us would be surprised at her achievements. Blessings on each of you as you experience her physical absence. May your faith assure you of the truth of the funeral liturgy; that for Shirley "life is changed; not taken away.

She was a classy lady, and did a lot for her community. Am sure she will be terribly missed by those who she loved the most. Hang in there, Hermsen family!

Shirley enjoyed family gatherings and will be missed by her cousins too. I was looking forward to seeing Shirley at our family reunion this summer. She was always so upbeat about everything. She was a great contribution to our world. We love you Shirley.
