Ronald J. Broviak

Mr. Ronald J. Broviak of La Porte, Indiana passed away Tuesday, November 8, 2016. He was 77 years of age.  Ronald was born July 26, 1939 in Ft. Wayne, Indiana to Raymond J. and Lucy E. (Muller) Broviak. He retired from the Westville Correctional Facility as a supervisor in housekeeping. 

Ronald was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church where he sang in the Choir and was a member of the Saint Vincent DePaul Society.  He was also a member of the American Legion Post 83, a member and past president of the La Porte Aero Club, a member of the La Porte Yacht Club, a Past Grand Knight and member of the Knights of Columbus, St. Michael Council #1542 in La Porte, the La Porte Amateur Radio Club, the La Porte Jaycees, and the La Porte Hospital Retirees. 

On June 15, 1963 Ronald married Mary J. Padgett of La Porte.  They were blessed with five wonderful children and later through the blessing of God with a foster son who became part of the family. 

Surviving is his wife, Mary; children; Michael of La Porte, Mark (Gwen) of La Porte, Jon (Melanie) of Indianapolis, Stephen (Allison) of Fishers; Beth (Gary) Petrie of Appleton, Wisconsin, and Don Mansfield (Gina) of Fish Lake; 11 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; 4 foster grandchildren; 1 foster great grandchild; sisters, Mary E. Gick of Annapolis, Maryland, Carol Baldridge of La Porte, Jill (Mark) Lindgren of Indianapolis; and a brother, Tom Broviak of La Porte. 

Ronald was preceded in death by his parents; a granddaughter, Lauren Broviak, daughter-in-law, Rhonda Broviak; sisters, Barbara Broviak, Lucy Fisher, Claudia Krause; and a brother, Joseph Broviak.

Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Sunday, November 13, 2016, at Frank L. Keszei Funeral Home, ESSLING CHAPEL, 1117 Indiana Avenue, La Porte Indiana, where a Parish Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, November 14, 2016, at St. Joseph Catholic Church.  Family and friends may gather at 9 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.  Burial will be in Pine Lake cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Vincent DePaul Society.
