Marion E. (DeLavern) Scott

Marion E. Scott, 81, of Rolling Prairie, Indiana passed away Saturday, July 16, 2016.  Marion was born July 15, 1935 in Gladwin, Michigan to Chester and Eolahbell (Folts) DeLavern.  Marion retired from LaMans Academy after 17 years in food service.  She was a former member of the Salvation Army Church, a 20 year volunteer with the Salvation Army, and a member of the Rolling Prairie V.F.W. Post #9423 Ladies Auxiliary. 

On October 30, 1954 Marion married Jesse J. Scott who preceded her in death in June of 2012.  Marion leaves behind her children, Roberta E. (Wayne) Heminger of Goodland, Indiana, Julie A. (Michael) Levendowski of Mill Creek, Indiana, Monty L. Scott of New Carlisle, Indiana; grandchildren, Chris (Amy) Scott, Jessica Scott, Dana (John) VanLue, Mike Scott, Mark (Candice) Scott, Kate Heminger, Dave (fiancée, Ashlee) Heminger, Maggie and Rebecca Levendowski; 17 great grandchildren; and sisters-in-law, Lorraine DeLavern of Allegan, Michigan, Bettie Frye of Robinson, Illinois, and Patty Ritter of West Branch, Michigan.  Marion was preceded in death by her parents, husband, six brothers, and seven sisters.

Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, July 20, 2016 at Frank L. Keszei Funeral Home, ESSLING CHAPEL, 1117 Indiana Avenue, La Porte, Indiana.  Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 21, 2016 in the funeral home where family and friends may visit one hour prior to the funeral.  Burial will be in Rolling Prairie Cemetery.
