To the Moryl family, sincerest condolences. During my time at LPHS ('79-'81) I only took 1 class taught by Mr. Moryl, but the numerous life lessons he passed along to us students resonate still to this day. He was an outstanding teacher. Grace and Peace to you at this time of loss.

Mr. Moryl was a great teacher. I couldn't wait to get to his class each day. He taught us how to be a citizen. He stressed how important it was to vote and to be an active participant in the process. He let us know we had a voice. He always stressed the importance of respect and learning. I wish every child could have the experience of a guiding hand like Kenneth Moryl.

I am so sorry for your loss. I worked with Ken at LPHS for 6 years. He was a role model for me when I became a new, young Dept. Chair and served with Ken on the Coordinating Council. I never heard anything negative about ken as a classroom teacher. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

I was fortunate to have Mr. Moryl my senior year (1997) for sociology and psychology. It's not so much what I learned in those classes but how he taught me to think and see the big picture. He brought enthusiasm and passion to the classroom every single day. I can only hope that I bring that same enthusiasm and passion to the students in my classroom. I hope to inspire my students as much as Mr. Moryl inspired me.

Chris and family, I was so sorry to hear of Ken's passing. He was one of the finest men I knew in my teaching career and was always an inspiration and friend to me. Like many in LaPorte, I feel blessed to have known him. He will be missed by the many people lucky enough to have had him touch their lives. You are all in my prayers.

Your husband and father was such a wonderful man. In 1975, he provided great comfort to my family, especially my mother, Mary Moryl, at the sudden unexpected death of my father. I was just 16 and a student at LPHS. My mother has never forgotten his kindness. He touched so many in the La Porte community and I hope that brings you great comfort at this time.

Melissa and family I am so sorry to hear about your dad passing. There really aren't any proper words to say at a time like this except to express my deepest sympathy and condolences. I know he was a great teacher and my daughter loved having him for a teacher, she said he was tough but she learned so much from him. Melissa again I am so sorry and if there is anything I can do for you please let me know. I will continue to say prayers for you and the rest of your family!

To the family of Ken Moryl : I'm so sorry for your loss. I worked beside Ken for a number of years, and he was such a great teacher and friend . He was such a hard worker and always had the best interests of his students in mind. No one will ever know how he really cared for his students, I saw him help in a number of ways that few people other then those that worked with him knew about. May he rest in peace!

My sympathy and prayers go to all of you - I am so sorry for the loss of Mr. Moryl. He was my favorite teacher and he was the reason I pursued my degree in Psychology. I loved his sense of humor and his insistence that I think critically and always strive for my best. I worked with Koreen for a time at Goodwill and admired those same qualities in her! I am in the La Porte City Band and will very much miss his presence at the concerts. What a wonderful man he was and made such a difference in La Porte. Thank you so much for sharing your husband/father with our schools and our community. He will truly be missed.
