Irene Victoria Surowiec

Irene Victoria Surowiec, 88, of La Porte, Indiana passed away Sunday, February 15, 2015.  Irene was born October 25, 1926 to Michael and Mary (Samys) Surowiec.  She retired from Countryside Nursing Home after many years of service.

Irene is survived by sisters-in-laws, Carol Surowiec of La Porte, Irene R. Surowiec of La Porte; a brother-n-law, Don Barber of Rancho Cucamonga, California; and several nieces and nephews.   She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Mary Jane Levendoski, Rosetta Barber; and brothers, Richard and Robert Surowiec.

Irene was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church in La Porte.  She enjoyed dancing and listening to Polka music. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Monday, February 23, 2015. St. Peter Catholic Church, where family and friends may visit on hour prior to the Mass at St. Peter Church.  Burial will follow in Pine Lake Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Peter Catholic Church, the SHARE Foundation of Rolling Prairie, Indiana, or AseraCare Hospice of Valparaio, Indiana.
