Florence Mae (DuBois) Hines

Mrs. Florence Mae Hines, 97, of Rolling Prairie, Indiana passed away peacefully November 26, 2014.

Florence was born to Joseph and Florence (Blakely) DuBois on October 12, 1917 in Chicago, Illinois and moved to Indiana in 1981.

On April 28, 1945 in Chicago, Illinois, Florence married Walter M. Hines who preceded her on January 13, 1974.

Florence retired from Little Company of Mary Hospital as a registered nurse.

Florence is survived by her daughters; LuAnn (Robert) Smith of Rolling Prairie, Indiana, Cathy (Jeff) Halter of North Liberty, Indiana; sons, Robert J (Barbara) Hines of Rolling Prairie, Indiana, Thomas M. (Marcia) Hines of Harvest, Alabama,  Walter M. Hines Jr. of Rolling Prairie, Indiana; grandchildren, Allison (Jeff) Haley, James (Amanda) Schwingendorf, Adam and Lauren Hines, Mark (fiancé Jessica) and David Halter; a great grandson, Corbin Schwingendorf; a sister, Kathryn Koenig of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma as well as several nieces and nephews.

Florence was preceded by her parents Joseph and Florence (Blakely) DuBois, a brother, Edward DuBois, and sister, Elizabeth Brooks.

Visitation 4-7 p.m. (CST) LaPorte Time, Sunday, November 30, 2014, at Essling Funeral Home, 1117 Indiana Avenue, LaPorte, Indiana, where a Rosary will be prayed at 5 p.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. (CST) LaPorte Time, Monday, December 1, 2014, at St. John Kanty Catholic Church.  Burial will take place at St. Mary Cemetery in Evergreen Park, Illinois at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hamilton Communities, New Carlisle, IN, or to the Alzheimer's Association.
