[U.S. Veteran] Mr. Anthony Frank “Tony” Grabiak, age 94, of Sandersville, died Wednesday, May 18, 2016. A Funeral Mass will be held Friday, May 20th at 11:00 a.m. at the May and Smith Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Stephen J. Pontzer officiating. A graveside service will be held on Friday, May 27th at 11:00 a.m. at the Union Mills Cemetery in Union Mills Indiana. 

Mr. Grabiak was born in Pennsylvania and reared in Union Mills Indiana. He was a former resident of both Michigan City Indiana and Birmingham Alabama prior to moving to Sandersville to work for the Sandersville Railroad Company from which he retired as the Chief Mechanical Officer. Mr. Grabiak was an active member of the St. William Catholic Church. He was a US Army Veteran serving in the 749th Tank Battalion during WWII. Mr. Grabiak was a past commander of the American Legion Post 94. He is predeceased by his wives, Rosemary Wittchen Grabiak and Sue Tannahill Grabiak. 

Survivors are: his children, Jerome A. Grabiak and Susan M. Grabiak both of Sandersville.

A visitation will be held on Thursday evening at 5:00 p.m. followed by a Vigil Service and Rosary at 6:00 p.m. at the May and Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville.
