Thomas "Tommy" Martinez

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Thomas “Tommy” Martinez, who left us far too soon at the age of 35.

Tommy passed away in his home surrounded by loved ones on Monday, May 26, 2025 after facing illness with remarkable strength, humor, and grace.

Born on February 8, 1990, Tommy brought laughter and light into the lives of everyone who knew him.

A proud Cubs fan, he had a quick wit, a sharp sense of humor, and a contagious laugh that made even the toughest days a little easier for those around him.

Tommy was a devoted father to his son, Isaiah, who was the pride and joy of his life. He loved being a dad, and his eyes lit up every time he talked about Isaiah’s latest milestones and adventures.

He worked at Aero Metals in La Porte.

He was also a beloved brother, son, and friend. Tommy was always ready with a joke, a smile, or just the right words to lift someone’s spirits. He had the ability to find humor in any situation and will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

He is survived by his son Isaiah, his mother Rebecca Howard and step-father Thomas Howard, his dad Thomas Collier, sister Erin Sims, his niece Amelia, many aunts, uncles, cousins, and his girlfriend Marlaina.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Juanita & Ernesto Martinez, and uncles James, David and Ernie Martinez.

Visitation will be held from 11 AM to 1 PM on Friday, June 6, 2025 at Frank L. Keszei Funeral Home, Essling Chapel, 1117 Indiana Avenue, La Porte, Indiana.

Funeral services will be at 1 PM Friday, June 6, 2025 in the Funeral Home.

Burial will follow at Pine Lake Cemetery.
