Thomas Patrick Young

Thomas Patrick Young, 86, of La Porte, Indiana passed away Friday, November 24, 2023. He was born on October 24, 1937, in Chicago, Illinois to the late Lawrence and Florence (Honkamp) Young.

Thomas was in charge of International Mailing with Scott Foresman/Harper Collins Publishing having served for 42 years.  He was a U.S. Navy Veteran during the Korean War, a member of the American Legion Post #83 where he served as a former Chaplin, a member of the La Porte Honor Guard, a past member and officer of the La Porte Jaycees, and was involved in Republican Politics.

Thomas is married to Cynthia Young who survives; with children, Maria (Craig) Kajer of La Porte, Bruce Young of Florida, Matthew Young of La Porte, David Young of La Porte; grandchildren, Michael Kajer, Emma Lee and Alexandra Young, and Landyn Trosper-Young; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Faye Skiba; and a brother, John Young.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday, December 7, 2023, at Holy Family Parish, Sacred Heart Church, 201 Bach Street, La Porte, Indiana. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in La Porte with Military Honors.
