Shirley A. (Scholz) Lewis

Shirley A. Lewis, 91, of La Porte, Indiana passed away Sunday, October 8, 2023. She was born August 27, 1932, to Leonard and Louise (Conover) Scholz in La Porte, Indiana.

On November 29, 1953, she married Richard E. “Dick” Lewis who preceded her in death. 

Shirley was a member of First United Methodist Church. She was a homemaker and enjoyed reading, gardening and scrapbooking. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

She is survived by her daughters, Patti Prosser of La Porte, Mary (James) Howe, of La Porte, Lori (Jon) Nebelung, of La Porte; grandchildren, James (Theresa) Howe, Melissa (Justin) Elek, Andrew (Cassie) Schulz, Amy Schulz, Jon (Amanda) Nebleung, Nicole Nebelung; and great grandchildren, Kylen, Bella, Luke, Avery, Lillie, Leyna, Lydia, Elise, Finnley, Jonny, Zak, and Oaklynn.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Jerry Scholz.  

Visitation will be held from 12 noon to 2 p.m. Friday October 13, 2023, at Frank L. Keszei Funeral Home, Essling Chapel, 1117 Indiana Avenue, LaPorte, Indiana.

Funeral Services will begin at 2 p.m. following the visitation in the funeral home.

Burial will follow at Pine Lake Cemetery.
