Sherry Lee Mayer

Sherry Lee Mayer, 76, of Gosport, Indiana, formerly of La Porte, Indiana, passed away Monday, December 12, 2022, at her home.

Sherry was born September 4, 1946, in La Porte to Michael J. and Angeline A. “Angie” (Vitale) Mayer. She graduated from La Porte High School in 1965 and attended Indiana University at Bloomington. Sherry was an inspector, assembler, and supervisor with Westinghouse Electric and Harman Motive.

Sherry is survived by her partner, Janice Bell of Gosport, Indiana; brother, Michael Mayer of South Bend, Indiana; two nieces, Cynthia (Christopher) Dazell and Deborah Mayer; a nephew, Jeffrey Mayer; and her fur babies, Maggie, Pippie, and Cottie. Sherry was preceded in death by her sister-in-law, Carol Jean Mayer.

Sherry was a thoughtful, kind, caring and compassionate person with a heart full of love. Sherry's family and friends meant the world to her. She was always present for her family and friends during the holidays and other festivities, in addition to, helping others whenever needed. Sherry enjoyed cooking and making baked goods for her family and friends during the holiday seasons.
Sherry loved her fur babies unconditionally and it was reflected in their daily care. Sherry's love of her fur babies during her lifetime was a true blessing. Sherry donated items to local animal shelters as well as supporting animal organizations she was passionate about.

Cremation has taken place at Frank L. Keszei Funeral Home, Essling Chapel, 1117 Indiana Avenue, La Porte, Indiana.
