Sally Jo Biege, 84, of La Porte, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 24, 2026.
She was born on November 23, 1941, in La Porte to the late Clarence and Leatha (Haag) Hilgendorf.
Sally dedicated many years to serving her community through her work in the Food Service Department of the La Porte Community Schools. Earlier in life, she was employed at Lenick’s Dairy and worked as a switchboard operator for GTE. She was a devoted member of Holy Family Parish, Sacred Heart Church.
On June 21, 1961, Sally Jo married Dennis Lee Biege, who preceded her in death on January 7, 2026. Together, they shared many years of love and commitment. She is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Tina (Garry) Bowers of La Porte; her grandchildren, Emily (Kirk) Epps, Breanna Young, Jacob (Allysa) Bowers, and Zachary Muller; and her great-grandchildren, Avery, Olivia, and Anthony Epps, along with Collin and Amelia Young. She is also survived by her siblings, Marty (Jim) Barber of Warsaw, Indiana, and C.J. (Dana) Hilgendorf of Florida.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Julie Muller, and siblings, Kenneth Hilgendorf and Janie Loeffler.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 10, 2026, at Frank L. Keszei Funeral Home, Essling Chapel, 1117 Indiana Avenue, La Porte, Indiana.
Family and friends may gather from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
