Russell E. Buckner, 57, of Michigan City, Indiana, passed away on May 4, 2026.
He was born on September 1, 1968, in Hammond, Indiana, to Rudolph and Juanita (Denson) Buckner, who preceded him in death.
On August 29, 2017, Russell married Bethany Ford, who survives. He is also survived by his daughter, Samantha Buckner; stepdaughter, Kayleigh Ford; and brothers, Randall and Richard Buckner. He was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Buckner.
Russell proudly served his country in the United States Marines for four years. He deeply loved his country and was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where he faithfully enjoyed serving in his Priesthood calling.
Russell was an avid Chicago Cubs fan and enjoyed creating Diamond Art. Known for his kind hearted and supportive nature, he touched the lives of many. He especially cherished the time spent with his stepdaughter, Kayleigh, sharing their love of roller coasters and making lasting memories together.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, May 28, 2026, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 402 E. Coolspring Avenue, Michigan City, Indiana 46360. President Robert Kindmark will officiate.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Frank L. Keszei, Essling Chapel of La Porte, Indiana.
