Roy Allen Cantrell

Roy Allen Cantrell, 72, of Wellston, Michigan, formerly of La Porte, Indiana, died Tuesday, May 19, 2020 at Munson Healthcare Manistee Hospital.

Roy was born on February 3, 1948 in Chicago, Illinois and was the son of Eugene Daisy and the late Beatrice (Cantrell) Daisy.  He was a graduate of Walker High School in Chicago and then served in the United States Army.  He married Claudette Kay (Good) Fritts on March 2, 2007 in La Porte, Indiana.

Roy was employed as a tool & die maker, retiring in 2009.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing and shrooming.  He loved to smoke meat and fish.

Roy is survived by his wife, Claudette Fritts Cantrell of Wellston; daughters, Rhonda Cantrell of La Porte, Indiana, Angie (Keith) O’Donnell of Elwood, Indiana, and Tammy Small of Knox, Indiana; a step-daughter, Tanya (Tim) Hellums of Michigan City, Indiana; step-sons, Richard Blankenship of Buchannan, Michigan, Joshua Fritts of Macy, Indiana, and Jason Fritts of La Porte, Indiana; his father, Eugene; brothers, Lou (Sherry) Cantrell of La Porte, Indiana, Jess (Jeanne) Cantrell of La Porte, Indiana, Roger (Daisy) Daisy of Kingsbury, Indiana, and Wayne (Jackie) Daisy of Rolling Prairie, Indiana; sisters, Susan (Don) Miller and Sandra Lundy, both of Terre Haute, Indiana; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Roy was preceded in death by his mother, Beatrice; and two brothers, Jim and Bob Cantrell.

Cremation has taken place and no services are planned at the time.
