Rose Mullins, a radiant source of love and happiness, passed away peacefully on April 20, 2025, in Union Mills, Indiana.
Born on September 23, 1955, in Breathitt, Kentucky, Rose was a cherished daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend who touched the lives of all who knew her with her warmth and kindness.
Rose was the loving daughter of the late Earl and Patsy (Miller) Stacy and grew up in a lively household with her siblings. She was married to the love of her life, Johnny Mullins, on February 12, 1972, who preceded her in death in 2017. Together, they built a beautiful family and shared countless cherished moments.
Rose's legacy continues through her children, Johnny (Karen Ames) Mullins II and Rachel (James) Davis, as well as her adored grandchildren, Austin (Brittoni Stone) Trinkle, Corbin Davis, McKenzie Davis, and Madison Davis. She was the sister of Gladys Howard, Shelby Stacy, Thurman Stacy, Earl C. Stacy, Clifford Stacy, and Lesa Vallo.
Rose was also preceded in death by her siblings Merlin Stacy, Harlan Stacy, Joe Stacy, Hazel Mullins, Henry Stacy, JB Stacy, Charles Arthur Stacy, Ellis Stacy, and Nancy Ritchie.
Each family member held a special place in her heart, and she nurtured these relationships with the same care and dedication she gave to her own children.
Rose's educational journey concluded with her graduation from high school, after which she embarked on a fulfilling career. She retired as a Supervisor with the La Porte County Juvenile Center, where she made a significant impact on the lives of many young individuals. Her compassion and commitment to helping others were evident in her work, and she was respected and admired by her colleagues and those she served.
Rose’s lively spirit shined through her passions. She loved to sing karaoke, always brought music and laughter to gatherings, and relished the excitement of riding 4 wheelers. She was always ready for a new adventure. Most of all, Rose cherished her family and had a deep, heartfelt love for children.
Her unwavering faith was the foundation of her life, guiding her with grace through every obstacle and success. Anyone who knew Rose would remember her as warm-hearted, deeply faithful, and genuinely welcoming. She possessed an extraordinary talent for making everyone feel at ease, her very presence bringing comfort and joy. Rose’s playful spirit was contagious, often transforming the simplest moments into cherished memories with her vibrant enthusiasm.
As we bid farewell to Rose Mullins, we celebrate a life well-lived—a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. Her spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of those she loved and in the countless lives she touched with her generosity and warmth. Rose's journey on earth may have come to a close, but her light will shine on, guiding us with the same love and faith that she so freely gave during her time with us.
