Ronald Jay Cuff

Ronald Jay Cuff, 78, of Hanna, IN passed away March 31, 2023. Ronald was born July 19, 1944, in Fremont, NE to Robert and Rosa (Boettcher) Cuff. He moved to Indiana in 1969 and worked for Northern Indiana Public Service Company as a Service Department worker for 54 years.

He married Marjorie Joyce Smith on May 1, 1965, at Saint John Kanty Church, in Rolling Prairie, IN. Ronald was a very social person and enjoyed time with his family. Fond memories are shared of times gathered in the yard and talking. He loved to buy unique nativity scenes and pick wild flowers for his wife. Don’t get us started on the banana boxes or the love of toast. He loved to garden and take care of the neighborhood birds, except for those grackles. His faith was above everything; he was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Wanatah, IN and had a fond love of Father Stanley at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Hamlet, IN.

Ronald leaves behind his wife, Marjorie; children, Michele Cuff of Hanna, Michael Cuff of Hanna, Mary (Harry) Cuff of La Porte IN, Melissa (Mark) Owen of Plymouth, IN Matthew (Jen) Cuff of Kewaunee, WI, Mark (Charlene) Cuff of Indianapolis, IN, Mitchell Cuff of Las Vegas, NV, Melinda Cuff of Hanna, IN, Margaret Cuff of Avon, IN, Martin (Erin) Cuff of Hanna, IN, Molly (Rob) Oberting of Indianapolis, IN, and Morgan (Amanda) Cuff of Fort Lee, OK; grandchildren Travis, Kelsey, Jackie, Naomi, Ethan, Elizabeth, Joseph, Luca, Audrey, Carter, Madison, Basil, and Nora; and a sister, Janis Giles of Marengo, Il. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Cuff and Rosa (Boettcher) Cuff, and sisters, Kathleen Haas and Susan Hopkins.

Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. Monday, April 10, 2023, at Frank L. Keszei Funeral Home, Essling Chapel, 1117 Indiana Avenue, La Porte, IN.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 11, 2023, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Wanatah, 204 N Ohio Street, Wanatah, IN.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Vincent de Paul, C/O Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Wanatah, IN or to a local food pantry in his honor.
