Ronald Nelson Buckland

Ronald Nelson Buckland, 89, of La Porte, Indiana passed away Thursday, October 12, 2023. Ronald was born on January 11, 1934, in Hinton, West Virginia to the late Marvin and Mabel (Allen) Buckland. 

On August 10, 1963, Ronald married Glenna Ruth (Woodrum) who preceded him in death on May 19, 2007.

Ronald is survived by his daughter, Norma (Buddy) Kasinger of La Porte; grandchildren, Sara and Ben (Rileigh); and great grandchildren, Teddy and Eleanor. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and siblings, Chlorine Weaver, Juanita Morgan, Leeoma Omiston, Orval Buckland, Clinton Buckland, and James Buckland.

Ronald was a heavy equipment operator with National Steel. He served his country in the United States Army. He attended Springville Free Methodist Church, loved mowing grass, the outdoors, and watching western movies.

Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. Sunday, October 15, 2023, at Frank L. Keszei Funeral Home, Essling Chapel 1117 Indiana Avenue, La Porte, Indiana. 

Funeral Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, October 16, 2023, at Springville Free Methodist Church, 5244 N State Road 39, La Porte, Indiana, where family and friends may visit from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. prior to the service. Pastor Kurt Feneley will officiate. Burial will follow at Springville Cemetery.
