Robert L. Francesconi

Robert L. Francesconi, 86, of La Porte, Indiana passed away on Tuesday, April 1, 2025.

He was born on July 7, 1938 in Elizabeth, PA to the late Gino and Beatrice (Kasslar) Francesconi.

Robert retired as a Production Supervisor with National Steel in Portage, Indiana after 38 years of service. He previously worked with US Steel-Irvin Works in Pittsburgh, PA.

Robert served his country honorably in the US Navy while stationed in both Newfoundland and Beeville, TX. He was also a volunteer fireman in South Haven, Indiana, and touched a number of lives coaching youth baseball at South Haven Little League.

Robert was a member of Holy Family Parish, St. Joseph Church in La Porte. He was previously a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Parish in South Haven, Indiana and St. Michael’s Church in Elizabeth, PA. He also belonged to the Knights of Columbus, La Porte Council 1542 in La Porte, and the Knights of Columbus in Elizabeth, PA.

On May 7, 1960 Robert married the former JoAnn Dorazio who survives with their children, Robert (LaRue) Francesconi of Chesterfield, Missouri, Mark (Laura) Francesconi of La Porte, Lisa (Ian) Esterhuizen of San Clemente, CA and Michael (Kara) Francesconi of Yorkville, IL; grandchildren: Jenna (Zach Kiger) Francesconi, Nick, Gino (Ashlie), Natalie, Ava, Lola, Joey, and Leo Francesconi; great grandchildren: Charlotte, Otto, and two more on the way. He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Lori, and brother Eugene Francesconi.

Private funeral service will take place with Frank L. Keszei Funeral Home, Essling Chapel in La Porte.
