Rita J. (Heitz) Williams

Rita J. Williams, 75, of La Porte, Indiana, passed away on Monday, June 15, 2026.

Born on April 25, 1951, in Chicago, Illinois, Rita was the daughter of the late Jack and Dorothy (Balletto) Heitz.

Rita worked as a bartender at Buck's Tavern, where she enjoyed meeting people and formed many lasting friendships over the years. She was known for her kind and genuine nature and for the love and devotion she showed to her family.

On July 21, 2024, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Larry Williams. She was also preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, John Heitz, Richard Heitz, her twin brother, and Kevin Heitz.

Rita is survived by her children, Eric Heitz, Tammy Bardon, Kelly Crumrine, and Shawn Crumrine; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and her sisters, Sue Heitz of La Porte and Toni Eiler of La Porte. Above all else, Rita treasured her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Her warmth, kindness, and genuine spirit touched many lives, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Rita's family will cherish the many memories they shared with her and will forever hold her close in their hearts.
