La Porte, IN - Peter J. Kaminski, 33, died July 12, 2023, at the University of Chicago Medical Center after an extended illness. He was born February 9, 1990, to James and Lizabeth Stevens Kaminski in La Porte, Indiana.
He enjoyed sports, especially golf and snow skiing, as well as all music; with a special appreciation for the band Phish. Pete loved his family and many friends. Pete graduated from La Lumiere School in 2008. He then attended the University of Vermont graduating with honors in 2012 with majors in both English and Studio Art. Following graduation Pete moved to Los Angeles, California to join Creators Syndicate working with artists and cartoonist published in national newspapers and magazines. He remained with Creators for ten years becoming the creative coordinator working in both LA and New York. He especially loved living in Brooklyn, NY.
Pete is survived by his parents Jim and Liz and sister Clara Kaminski of Manhattan, NY. He is preceded in death by his grandparents La Vern and Arthella Stevens; Leon and Norma Kaminski; and uncle Larry Coble.
Visitations will be Friday, August 4, 2023, from 4 - 7pm at Frank L. Keszei Funeral Home, Essling Chapel, 1117 Indiana Avenue, La Porte.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, August 5, 2023, at 10 a.m., at Holy Family Parish - St. Peter Catholic Church, 1101 Michigan Avenue, La Porte, with Reverend Nate Edquist officiating. Internment will follow at Pine Lake Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Unity Foundation - Trees for Beechwood fund to benefit the planting and maintenance of trees at Beechwood Golf Course or to a charity of the donors choice.
