Ordway Richie Obituary

Ordway Richie, 82, of La Porte, Indiana passed away Saturday, April 2, 2022.

Ordway was born October 23, 1939, in Jackson, Kentucky to the late Woodrow and Laura (Prather) Ritchie.

Ordway married Bernice Lancaster who preceded him in death on September 11, 2014.

Ordway worked at Wirecraft Manufacturing, delivered the La Porte Herald Argus newspaper, and with Pullman-Standard Railroad Car Manufacturing Company in Michigan City.

Ordway is survived his sisters, Madeline Stacy of La Porte, Indiana, Marcella Hopper of Winchester, Kentucky, and Naomi Tharp of Beattyville, Kentucky; a brother, Maynard Ritchie of Jackson, Kentucky; brothers-in-law, Marshall and Richard Lancaster; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Bernice; two sisters, America McCarty and Donna Jean Keith; and three brothers, Ray Ritchie, Carl Ritchie, and Kelly Ritchie.

Cremation has taken place. Arrangements have been entrusted to Frank L. Keszei Funeral Home, Essling Chapel, 1117 Indiana Avenue, La Porte, Indiana.

Memorial contributions may be made to La Porte County Small Animal Shelter, 2855 W. State Road 2, La Porte, Indiana 46350.
