Muriel "Molly" M. (Ashwin) Bailey

Muriel “Molly” M. Bailey, 96, of La Porte, Indiana passed away Thursday, September 7, 2023. Molly was born October 7, 1926, in Broseley, England to the late Charles and Ada (Fletcher) Ashwin.

On October 20, 1945, in Dawley, England, Molly married Eugene “Gene” W. Bailey who preceded her in death on April 16, 2005.

Molly was a member of First United Methodist Church. She had been employed with the former Fox Woolen Mills in La Porte. She loved watching her English soccer teams on TV. She especially enjoyed watching her grandchildren's school activities. 

Molly is survived by two daughters, Bonnie (Mike Jacobs, deceased) Jacobs of New Carlisle, Indiana and Jane Hickman of Indianapolis, Indiana; three sons, John (Linda) Bailey of Augusta, Georgia, Thomas (Sherry) Bailey of La Porte, Indiana and Dave (Martha) Bailey of Cape Coral, Florida; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her parents: husband, Gene; and two sisters.

Private family burial will take place at Patton Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Frank L. Keszei Funeral Home, Essling Chapel, 1117 Indiana Avenue, La Porte, Indiana.
