Michael A. Ruminski, 79, of La Porte Indiana, passed away Thursday, December 30, 2021. He was born December 19, 1942, to Albion and Sophia (Wendzicki) Ruminski.
After high school Michael served his country in the US Navy during the Vietnam War. He was known for being an avid bowler. He also loved to watch Notre Dame football being able to recall past games of many years gone by.
On May 9, 1969, Michael married Marcia Johnson who survives.
He is survived by his wife; children; Jason (Cindy) Ruminski of La Porte, Karl (Kristy) Ruminski of Michigan City; and Kathy (G.L.) Phillips of La Porte, grandchildren, Kyle Ruminski, Brenna (Scott) Klosowski, Conner Nelson, Ella Phillips, Luke Ruminski, and Gabby Phillips; and 2 great-grandchildren; sisters, Barbara Zook of Michigan City, and Regina Kindig of Grawn, Michigan; and brothers, Terry (Mary) Ruminski of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas, and Andrew (Pam) Ruminski of La Porte. He was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Jo Kennedy; and brothers Patrick and Daniel Ruminski.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, January 14, 2022, at Frank L. Keszei Funeral Home, Essling Chapel, 1117 Indiana Avenue, La Porte, Indiana. Family & friends may gather on Saturday, January 15, 2022, from 9 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. in the funeral home prior to the Mass
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, January 15, 2022, at Holy Family Parish, St. Peter Church, 1101 Michigan Avenue, La Porte, Indiana 46350. Burial will follow at Patton Cemetery.
