Melinda G. Gaw

Melinda G. Gaw, 69, of Michigan City, Indiana passed away Sunday, June 6, 2021.

Melinda was born October 17, 1951, in La Porte, Indiana to the late Vernon Gerald and Margaret Ellen (Trump) Gaw.

Melinda worked for La Porte County EMS as an EMT and in the office. She was a Bus Driver, worked at the DMV, was a corrections officer at Westville Corrections and the Indiana State Prison, worked at Joy Manufacturing, and was a member of the Springfield Township Volunteer Fire Department. Melinda received the La Porte County EMS appreciation and dedicated service award, having served from July 1997 to August 2014.

Melinda is survived by her son, Kenneth “Buddy” Emmons, Jr.; a granddaughter Maggie Emmons; and her best friend, Linda Byers.  She was preceded in death by her parents, and her infant baby, Jennifer Jo Emmons.

Visitation will be from 1-3 p.m. Thursday, June 10, 2021, at Frank L. Keszei Funeral Home, Essling Chapel, 1117 Indiana Avenue, La Porte, Indiana.  A graveside service will follow at 3:30 p.m. at Springville Cemetery in La Porte. Pastor Bob Vale will officiate.
