Obituary

Mary Jo Scheppner, 84, of LaPorte, IN. died of natural causes on Sunday, February 12th, 2023.

Mary Jo was born in St. Louis, to parents Robert and Joanne (Gory) Blackburn, they preceded her in death. She is survived by her brother Robert. Her sister Carol and her other brother Reynolds preceded her in death.

In 1960, Mary Jo married Charles Scheppner who preceded her in death. They had a wonderful marriage with 6 beautiful children Donna (& Jim), Charles, Julie (& Todd), Stacey, Mark, and Daniel (& Nicole), along with 11 grandchildren (Jason, Jessica, Christy, Ryan, Katie, Allen, Michael, Kimberlee, Justin, Alexis, Stella), and 8 great grandchildren (Murphy, Bennett, Adalyn, Cooper, Roland, Rose, Nevan, Charlea).

Mary Jo (Mother, Grandmother or better known as JoJo) was a kind, loving, strong mother committed to her family. Professionally she was a registered nurse (RN). Her husband Charles died in 1981, leaving Mary Jo with 6 children under the age of 21 to raise by herself. She loved her family and worked hard to provide for them. We will miss her on earth while thinking about her dancing up in heaven with her husband Charles.

Cremation has taken place with Frank L. Keszei Funeral Home, Essling Chapel in LaPorte, IN.
