Mary Jo (Abner) Dennis

Mary Jo Dennis, 66, of La Porte, Indiana passed away Friday, August 12, 2022, surrounded by her loved ones.

Mary Jo was born December 7, 1955, in Hammond, Indiana to the late Joseph and Mary (D’Angelo) Abner. She retired as a Social Worker in the La Porte County area. She managed the Farmer’s Market using her creative and selfless qualities. She held a bachelor’s degree from Purdue Northwest.

Mary Jo, loving mother, and grandmother, leaves behind two daughters, Kathleen M. Dennis and Susan K. Dennis; a son, Joseph K. Dennis; three grandchildren, Victoria M. Akers, William J. Dennis, and Dominic Hefner; and her life partner, Kip Dugan.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Susan Marie Abner.

Visitation will be from 4-6:30 p.m. Friday, August 19, 2022, at Frank L. Keszei Funeral Home, Essling Chapel, 1117 Indiana Avenue, La Porte, Indiana, where words of remembrance will begin at 6:30 p.m.
