Mary Ann (Cook) Conn

Mary Ann Conn, age 95, of La Porte, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 30, 2025.

She was born on December 11, 1930, in La Porte to Harry and Alice (Slater) Cook, who preceded her in death.

Mary Ann devoted her life to her home and family. She found joy in gardening, taking daily walks, and staying busy. She especially loved her dogs, Ginger and Penny, who brought her much happiness. For 25 years, Mary Ann and her husband Charles enjoyed spending their winters as snowbirds in Ocala, Florida, while keeping La Porte close to their hearts.

On March 15, 1952, Mary Ann married Charles A. Conn, who preceded her in death on June 19, 2011. She is lovingly remembered by her children: Charles (Annie) Conn Jr. of La Porte, Darryl Conn of Rome, Georgia, Larry Conn of La Porte, and Timothy (Judy) Conn of La Porte; 11 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband; her son, Kenneth Diedrich Jr.; and her siblings, Claude Slater, Frank Cook, Leo Cook, and Alene Trojanowski.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 8, 2026, at Frank L. Keszei Funeral Home, Essling Chapel, 1117 Indiana Avenue, La Porte, Indiana.

A funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Pastor Jeff Zigler will officiate.

Burial will take place at Pine Lake Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made in Mary Ann’s memory to Shriner’s Children’s Hospital or the Alzheimer’s Association.
