Martin "Marty" W. Cains

Martin (Marty) W. Cains, 64, of Trail Creek, Indiana passed away Saturday, July 19, 2025.

Marty was born on June 12, 1961 in St. Joseph County, Indiana to the late Frank John Cains and Mary (Harrison) Schlunz of La Porte.

Marty is survived by his mother; a daughter, Danael (Jason) Knowlton of Buchanan, Michigan; a son, Corbin (Kacey) Cains of Buchanan, Michigan; grandchildren, Rylen Baker, Landon Cains, Sophia Smith, and Nora Smith; his siblings, Diane (Richard) Bush of Sarasota, Florida, Linda (Jim) Thompson of Warsaw, Indiana, Denise (Steve) Bealor of La Porte, Mike (Debbie) Cains of La Porte, and Paul (Sue) Cains of La Porte, along with many nieces and nephews.

Marty was an Engineer with the South Shore Railroad for over 25 years. He loved tennis and was a tennis pro in the 80’s. He was very athletic in school and enjoyed playing golf as he got older. Marty was very fun to be around as he was a loving and funny guy.

Visitation will be held from 9 AM to 11 AM, Friday, July 25, 2025, at Frank L. Keszei Funeral Home , Essling Chapel, 1117 Indiana Avenue, La Porte, Indiana.

A funeral service will follow the visitation at 11 AM in the Funeral Home.
