Mark Sabinas Obituary

Mark W. Sabinas, of Mill Creek, Indiana, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, sibling, and friend, passed away peacefully on June 8, 2025, in Chicago, Illinois.

Born on July 3, 1961, in Buchanan, Michigan, Mark's life was a testament to the strength of family, faith, and community.

Mark's journey began as the beloved son of the late Edward and Hazel (Rice) Sabinas. His early years in Jackson, Michigan instilled in him the values of hard work and dedication that would define his life.

On July 23, 1983, he married the love of his life, Theresa (Quinn), who survives him. Their union was blessed with two wonderful children, Joshua P. (Renee) Sabinas of Hobart, Indiana, and Jessica A. (Cory) Karbach of Kendallville, Indiana. Mark's joy multiplied with the arrival of his grandchildren, Elijah and Mia Sabinas, and Russell, Quinn, and Gabriella Karbach, who knew him as the best grandfather in the world. Mark's siblings, Michael (Diane) Sabinas of South Bend, Indiana, Linda (Claude, deceased) Malone of Sumrall, Mississippi, and Theodore (Dianne) Sabinas of Cedar Springs, Michigan, as well as his sister-in-law, Ann Sabinas of Granger, Indiana, will hold memories of him close to their hearts.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Larry Sabinas.

Mark attended East Jackson High School and then his junior year moved and attended New Prairie High School. Mark took the knowledge he gained and channeled it into a successful career as a self-employed electrician. His skill and reliability made him a respected figure in the community, and his willingness to lend a helping hand became his hallmark.

Mark's Christian faith was a cornerstone of his life. As a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church at Fish Lake, he lived his beliefs through service and example. Mark's commitment to his community was further demonstrated through his work as a former Fish Lake volunteer firefighter and as a Pop-Warner youth football coach. He taught his players not only the rules of the game but also the importance of teamwork and integrity.

Those who knew Mark will remember him as a man who was loving, kind, and generous. His traditionalist values were reflected in his love for his family, his pride in their achievements, and his dedication to helping others. Mark's presence was a source of stability and strength, and his legacy will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to have known him.

Mark W. Sabinas lived a life full of love and service, and his passing leaves a void in the hearts of all who loved him. Yet, we take comfort in knowing that his spirit lives on through the lives he touched and the good deeds he accomplished. Mark's life was a beautiful example of what it means to care for others, and his memory will be cherished forever.
