Mark W. Giesler, 68, of La Porte, Indiana passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, September 24, 2024.
Mark was born on July 25, 1956 in La Porte, Indiana to the late Robert and Sophie (Patzalek) Giesler.
Mark retired from Laborers’ Local 81 and pursued a career in construction management that allowed him to travel throughout the Midwest with his wife.
He coached his children's youth sports for many years and took pride in their accomplishments. Mark had many hobbies like golfing, watching his favorite team , the Chicago Bears or relaxing with a cocktail by his pool. He loved hunting, fishing and the outdoors. Mark and his wife loved to travel together. One of the places they cherished most was Hawaii, where they celebrated their 35th wedding anniversary by renewing their vows. Family meant everything to him, and he treasured the moments spent together. He recently celebrated his 50 year class reunion with the class of 1974 from La Porte High School.
On January 19, 1980, in La Porte, Mark married Kimberly A. Ott who survives. He leaves behind two daughters, Jodie (TJ) Campbell of South Bend, Amanda (Adam) Ecker of South Bend; a son, Andy (Kelsey) Giesler of La Porte; grandchildren, Olivia, Emily and Jaxon Signorino, Gavin Steinhaus, Gisele and Caleb Ecker, and Hunter and Hudson Giesler; his mother-in-law, Judith Ott; sisters-in law, Linda (Dennis) Miller, Kellie (Eric) Stulc, Jodi (Kurt deceased) Ott; and several nieces and nephews.
Mark was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Patricia Giesler; and brother, Bobby Giesler.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Frank L. Keszei Funeral Home, Essling Chapel, 1117 Indiana Avenue, La Porte, Indiana.
A private Celebration of Life will take place.
