Margaret J. (Evans) Rimmer

Margaret J. Rimmer, 86, of Rolling Prairie, Indiana passed away Saturday, December 24, 2022 at her home.

Margaret was born January 24, 1936, in Crawley, Sussex, England to the late Robert and Elsie (Caunce) Evans.  She was raised in Marshside, Southport, Lancashire, England by her loving grandparents, Sydney and Jane Evans.

Margaret came to the United States in 1977, living in Michigan City, and Rolling Prairie in 1995. She was a Correctional Officer for Westville Department of Corrections where she retired in 2007.

Margaret was a member of Rolling Prairie United Methodist Church.

Margaret is survived by one son, Robert (Barbara) Hoyle of Michigan City, Indiana; two daughters, Janice (Harvey) Stroud of La Porte, Indiana and Shirley (Richard) Novak of Rolling Prairie, Indiana; six grandchildren, Tommy, Janine, Robert, Jacob, Jared, and Tara; 13 great-grandchildren; one sister, Rosemary Cartwright of Southport, England; as well as many other family members in England; and friend, Ronald Mohlke.  She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Sydney and Jane Evans; and one great-granddaughter, Ashlee.

Margaret loved her family dearly, as they did her.  Her leaving us has left a huge void in our hearts and of everyone who loved her.

Visitation will be from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 29, 2022 with a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at Frank L. Keszei Funeral Home, Essling Chapel, 1117 Indiana Avenue, La Porte, Indiana.  Pastor JoEllyn Chadwick will officiate.  Burial will follow in Rolling Prairie Cemetery.
