Lorraine J. (Phillips) Jones

Lorraine J. Jones, 85, of La Porte, Indiana passed away Thursday, February 24, 2022.  Lorraine was born on July 26, 1936, in La Porte, Indiana to Patrick and Leota (Masterson) Phillips.  

On May 18, 1957, in Kingsbury, Lorraine married James L. Jones who preceded her in death on April 12, 2003.

Lorraine graduated from La Porte High School in1954. Lorraine was an office manager at the YMCA and retired from Whirlpool as a supervisor. After retirement she worked for Meridian Title Company. She enjoyed cooking, and dancing.  Lorraine loved her family and spending time with them and friends.

She is survived by children; Tammy Jones of Indianapolis, Pamela (Chris) Kukla of La Porte, Terri (Kirt) Lawson of La Porte; grandchildren, Jennifer (Branden) Grubbs, Jason (Alyssa) Kukla, Katie (Chad) Mrozinski, Karlee (Kristian) Dodson, Ashley (Mike) Smithman, Adam (Nikki) Jones; and 14 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, son, James G. Jones, her parents, and siblings, Duane Phillips, and Patsy Thelen.

Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. Sunday, February 27, 2022, at Frank L. Keszei Funeral Home, Essling Chapel, 1117 Indiana Avenue, La Porte, Indiana.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, February 28, 2022, at Holy Family Parish, Sacred Heart Church, 201 Bach Street, La Porte, Indiana 46350. Reverend Ian Williams will officiate. Family and friends may visit from 9 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. on Monday in the funeral home. Burial will follow at Union Mills Cemetery in Union Mills, Indiana.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105.
