Lois Marie Messman, 93, of La Porte, Indiana passed away at home, Monday, September 19, 2022.
Lois was born February 3, 1929, in Milford, Illinois to the late William and Geneva (Kirchman) Natschke.
On November 23, 1974, Lois married Carl E. Messman who preceded her in death on August 20, 2009.
Lois worked at Hilbish Drug Store, Plimpton Press and also Whirlpool. She grew up on a farm and loved gardening and her flowers. She was a Chicago Cubs and Bulls fan, and a member of Bethany Lutheran Church.
Lois is survived by two daughters, Brenda (Rex) Miller of Grovertown, Indiana and Karen Ferry of Lafayette, Indiana; two grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three step great grandchildren; two great great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Lois was preceded by her parents; husband Carl; son-in-law, Jack Ferry; a sister, Berdella Natschke; and brothers, Marvin, Don, and Lavern Natschke.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, September 27, 2022, at Bethany Lutheran Church, 102 G. Street, La Porte, Indiana 46350. A funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. in the church. Burial will be at St. John Lutheran Cemetery, La Porte. Pastor Dennis Meyer will officiate.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Frank L. Keszei Funeral Home, Essling Chapel, La Porte, Indiana.
