Lois (Marene) (James) Baughman

Lois (Marene) Baughman, 87, of La Porte, Indiana passed away on June 28, 2024 at Miller’s Merry Manor in New Carlisle, Indiana.

Marene was born on December 3, 1937, to the late William James and Vera (Lowery) James in Marmaduke, Arkansas.

She was a hostess at Round the Clock restaurant for several years prior to her retirement.

On July 11, 1955 in La Porte, Indiana she married Robert (Bob) Baughman who preceded her in death on November 8, 2023. Also preceding her in death were two brothers, Bobby James and Brad James; one sister, Ruthann Wolfe; two grandsons, Robert (Bobby) Baughman and Nathaniel Skorup Baughman.

Marene is survived by two sons, Robert (Jill) Baughman Jr, and Matthew (Debi) Baughman of La Porte; one daughter, Shari Baughman of La Porte; nine grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; one brother, Arthur James; and one sister, Rosemary Bachmannn.

A memorial visitation will be from 9:30 AM - 10:30 AM (CST) Monday, July 15, 2024, at Frank L. Keszei Funeral Home, Essling Chapel, 1117 Indiana Avenue, La Porte, Indiana with a Funeral Service at 11 AM with Pastor Tim Ahlemeyer officiating.

Burial will follow at Pine Lake Cemetery.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life luncheon at the La Porte First United Methodist Church, 1225 Michigan Avenue following the burial.

Memorial contributions may be made to the La Porte First United Methodist Church.
