Lisa Mosher Obituary

Lisa Ann Mosher, who will haunt her family from beyond if they reveal her true age, passed peacefully on March 31, 2024. She is survived by her two siblings, Wendy Church (Terry) and Nick (Sara Lister), two nephews, Quentin and Trey, her four-legged feline daughter, Trouble, numerous furry nephews, and the lady who made her widowed father happy again, Patsy Spahn. She was preceded in death by her parents, Glen and Gyneth (McCoy) Mosher, all four grandparents, and several other furry children who came her way. Lisa never met an animal she didn’t like, and it was usually mutual.

Lisa was a teacher, and an amazing one. She taught English as a Second Language. She was honored as Teacher of the Year once, surprising no one. Lisa was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes Mellitus at a young age. Her doctors told her parents that she wouldn’t survive past 21, but she did, celebrating the anniversary of her 21st birthday over, and over, and over, and over, again. But we won’t talk about her age. During her life, diabetes threw many roadblocks at Lisa. She never got a break, but she never gave up. Lisa had the great fortune of meeting some fantastic people in her medical journey: from the doctors and nurses to the fantastic staff at Trail Creek Place and Dunes Hospice who made Lisa’s transition as peaceful as it was possible to be. Her family will be forever grateful to all of those who treated Lisa with care and compassion over the years.

If you’ve read this far, thank you. Lisa just can’t be summed up in five lines or less. She was greatly loved and will be forever missed.
