Leslie Hahney-Swayze Obituary

Leslie Ellen Hahney-Swayze, 42 of La Porte, Indiana passed away Monday, April 29, 2024.She was born on February 5, 1982.

Our sweet Leslie sadly passed away unexpectedly in her sleep early Monday morning. Leslie brightened our worlds more than she could ever imagine.

Leslie had a passion for drinking as much pop as she could get her hands on, specifically “dark pop.” We spent several thousand hours watching Dirty Dancing, Too Wong foo thanks for everything, Curly Sue, and Home Alone. She loved listening to music at full blast in the car, sitting in the sun on the back porch, and going to McDonald’s. Did I mention she loved pop? She loved Barbies, a sock in a Tupperware, Bon Jovi, Celine Dion, John Rink, Dusty Rose, Van Halen and Taylor Swift.

Leslie had a beautiful life. She was attached to her mother’s hip. She followed her everywhere like a baby duck and goose.

She taught all of us patience and a different kind of love and understanding most people do not get the opportunity to experience. She taught us humor and that it’s okay to laugh. Leslie was one of the girls.

She is preceded in death by the love of her life Patrick Swayze and grandparents Albert Wright, Josephine Hahney, and William Hahney .Dogs, Kikko, Gizmo, and Barney.

She is survived by her love, Howie D from the Backstreet Boys; her loving mother, Beth Hahney; father Michael Hahney; grandma, Lu Lu; aunt Kimberly (Jeff) Meister; uncle Jim (Joann) Wright, uncle Bill; sisters, Patti (Keith) Pierson, Brittney (Jimmy) Drakoulis, Casey (Andy) Milam, and a brother, Michael (Gen) Hahney Jr.

She was adored by her nieces and nephews Bella, Coltt, Mickey, Remi, Maverick, and Josie.

Our worlds are a lot quieter without her and her potty mouth. She will be missed immensely. Please keep our family, especially our mother, in your thoughts. “Laughed as she came to my cradle, Know this child will be able, Laughed as she came to my mother, Know this child will not suffer, Laughed as my body, she lifted, Know this child will be gifted, With love, with patience, and with faith, She'll make her way.”
