Leona Graham Brown

Mrs. Leona A. Brown (95) of LaPorte, died Saturday, July 30, 2022 at 9:30 p.m. at Settler’s Place where she lived out some of her best days and made to feel accepted by everyone.

Leona was born December 16, 1926, in Clinton Township to Samuel C. and Mary Adeline (Daley) Poston and lived in LaPorte County all her life. She was a member of Holy Family Parish Saint Peter’s Church. 

On July 26, 1946, she was married to James D. Graham who passed away February 14, 1995. She and Jim had five children: Pamela (who precedes Leona in death), Theresa (Richard) of Sebring, Florida, Brian (Vivian) of Churabusco, Indiana, Patricia (Jerry) Craven of LaPorte, Indiana and Thomas (Christine) also of LaPorte. Leona is also survived by nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a stepson, Thomas (Diane) Brown.

On October 22, 2000, she married Herbert Brown, who survives. She and Herbie married late in life and were good companions for over 20 years.

Visitation will be from 9:00 -10:45 a.m. Friday, August 5, 2022 at Frank L. Keszei Funeral Home, Essling Chapel, 1117 Indiana Avenue, La Porte, Indiana.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 5, 2022 at Holy Family Parish, St. Peter Catholic Church. Reverend Nate Edquist will officicate. Burial will be at Pinhook Cemetery.
