Laura C. (Andrews) Boyd

Laura C. Boyd, 58, of La Porte, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 21, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family.

Born on January 15, 1967, in Portage, Indiana, Laura was the daughter of Charles Robert Andrews and Sigrid Faye (Besant) Ure.

She worked for many years as a food nutrition specialist, but her greatest joy came from caring for the people she loved.

She was a devoted mother, grammy, sister, and friend. Laura had a vibrant spirit and a great sense of humor. She adored the movie The Birdcage and could quote it line for line. She found joy in 70s music, the smell of boat gas on the lake, and the feeling of summer sunshine on her skin. She loved the beach, watching birds, and was happiest with a dog by her side. Her laughter, warmth, and big heart will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her mother, Sigrid “Faye” Ure; her sons, Sam (Haley) Boyd and Patric (Nicole) Lehker, both of La Porte; her beloved grandchildren, Paisley and Riley; her sister, Denise (Mark) Ferrar of Spencer, Indiana; her niece, Rachel (Arlen) Nettleton; and great-niece, Pema.

She was preceded in death by her father, Charles Andrews, and her life partner, Mark Lehker.

Laura’s legacy is one of love, laughter, and fierce devotion to family. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 3 PM to 5 PM on Friday, September 12, 2025, at Frank L. Keszei Funeral Home, Essling Chapel, 1117 Indiana Avenue, La Porte, Indiana
