Kim Bunce Obituary

Kim Anne Bunce, known affectionately as Kim to her friends and family, passed away peacefully on May 19, 2025, at the age of 65, in La Porte, Indiana.

Born on March 18, 1960, in Michigan City, Indiana, she was the cherished daughter of the late George Francis and Karen Louise (Kimmel) Bunce.

Kim's life was marked by her unwavering kindness and friendly spirit, traits that endeared her to everyone she met. She graduated from high school in her hometown and soon embarked on a career that would span over three decades. Kim's professional journey began at Erincraft Manufacturing, where she dedicated over 30 years of service and then continued at Selective Gift Institute and the time of her passing, she was a valued employee at Howmet Aerospace in La Porte, where her colleagues respected her for her dedication and warm-hearted nature.

Her personal life was full of joy and love, especially for her family. She leaves behind her beloved daughter, Jennifer (Mike) Oberle of La Porte, and was the proud grandmother to Caleb Rose, Isabella, Noah, Ian Oberle, Keith Keehn, and Donovan Malstaff. Kim's life was further enriched by her significant other, Terry Malstaff, with whom she shared many cherished moments. She is also survived by her brothers, Brian (Heba) Bunce and Rory (Jodi) Bunce. Her sister, Tammy Harrington, preceded her in death, and Kim held the memories of her dearly in her heart.

Kim's zest for life could be seen in her various interests and hobbies. She was an avid camper, finding solace and adventure in the great outdoors. Her scrapbook group members were not just friends but a second family, with whom she shared many creative sessions, preserving memories and laughter.

Kim's love extended to her four-legged companion, her beloved dog, who was a constant source of joy and comfort to her.

Those who knew Kim would describe her as a loving soul, a kind-hearted individual who always had time for others, and a friendly presence that could light up any room. Her ability to connect with people and her genuine care for their well-being were the hallmarks of her character.

As we bid farewell to Kim Anne Bunce, we celebrate a life well-lived, full of moments that touched the hearts of many.
