Kevin D. Cochran, 57, of La Porte, Indiana, passed away unexpectedly on February 26, 2026.
He was born on March 11, 1968, to the late Francis L. “Buddy” and Donna J. (Dydo) Cochran.
Kevin dedicated many years of his career to Konrady Plastics in Portage, Indiana, where he worked as a salesman and built lasting friendships along the way.
Above all, Kevin cherished his family. He also had a deep love for music—writing songs, playing, and performing, with the electric guitar holding a special place in his heart. He found peace outdoors, whether watching birds, tending to plants, or fitting in a round of golf. A lifelong learner with a curious mind, Kevin had a strong interest in science and computers and enjoyed researching anything before making a purchase. He truly valued conversation and could connect with others on just about any subject.
Kevin proudly served his country during the Gulf War as a Navy air traffic controller.
On June 26, 2004, Kevin married Jennifer Kolar, who survives. He is also lovingly remembered by their children, Jonah and Casey Cochran; his sisters, Lesley (David) Timm of Greenback, Tennessee, and Lisa Konya of La Porte; and his niece, Heather Konya of La Porte. He was preceded in death by his parents and his in-laws, John and Bettye (Brown) Kolar.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 4, 2026, at Frank L. Keszei Funeral Home, Essling Chapel, 1117 Indiana Avenue, La Porte, Indiana.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 5, 2026, at the funeral home, with family and friends invited to visit one hour prior to the service.
