Kathy A. (Neuendank) Davis

Kathy A Davis, 76 of Granger Indiana and formerly of LaPorte passed away Thursday October 31, 2024 at Memorial Hospital in South Bend.

Kathy was born November 11, 1947, in Chicago Illinois to August and Berniece (Evans) Neuendank. Kathy was raised by her aunt first in Southern California and later in LaPorte.

She was a 1965 graduate of LaPorte High School. Following her graduation, she was employed in the office of Whirlpool Corporation at their Factory street location in LaPorte. Kathy later joined Farm Bureau Insurance in their Regional Claims Office where she managed the clerical support staff.

In 1997 Kathy came home to tend her flowers and become a full time homemaker. She had a passion for flower gardening and a natural green thumb. The backyard of her home at the KOP Circle was always in full bloom. In 2001 Kathy left LaPorte as her husband's job took them to Saint Joseph County. They purchased a home in Granger Indiana and Kathy started creating her backyard gardens again. In 2022, Kathy was asked to include her gardens in the Art League of South Bend Garden Walk.

On December 1, 1978 Kathy married Hugh M Davis. Together, they enjoyed almost 46 years of marriage. Kathy is survived by her husband Hugh; one son William A Davis of Granger Indiana; and two grandsons, Andrew J Davis, and Nathan M Davis of Fishers , Indiana.

Kathy enjoyed traveling, and she and Hugh made several trips to Europe. Kathy made it a point to always inspect as many English gardens as possible to obtain ideas for her gardens at home. She also enjoyed the South Carolina low country and the several weeks each winter spent at Sea Pines Plantation on Hilton Head Island.

At Kathy’s request, there will be no visitation. A simple graveside service will take place at Pine Lake Cemetery in LaPorte presided over Pastor Lee Whitman of The LaPorte Seventh Day Adventist Church. 

Arrangements have been entrusted to Frank L. Keszei Funeral Home, Essling Chapel in La Porte.
