Kathryn Margaret (Johnson) Giddings

Kathryn Margaret Giddings, formerly of La Porte, passed from life on March 19, 2020, at the Ted and Diane Brandley Hospice House in Summerfield, Florida. She was born in Chicago, Illinois on January 29, 1943. Kathie grew up in Chicago and spent her working life at IBM. She worked her way up from key punch operator to marketing manager. While at IBM, she worked in many different locations, including Chicago, Minneapolis, Denver, Los Angeles, Atlanta, and Connecticut. When she retired from IBM, she moved south. First to Ashville, then Hendersonville and finally, The Villages. While living in North Carolina, Kathie was active in hiking clubs, volunteer trail maintenance, and enjoyed playing Mahjong in one of the Villages Clubs.

Devoted daughter of Art and Pally Johnson, she is survived by her brother Jim Johnson (Pat) and four adored nieces and nephews, Linda Hampton (Steve), Diane Grassmann (Larry), David Johnson (Meghan) and Eric Johnson (Hilary). Kathie was also the proud great aunt to eleven great nieces and nephews.

A private burial will take place at a later date at St. Joseph Cemetery in LaPorte, Indiana. In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to St Vincent DePaul Catholic Church, 5323 E CR 462 Wildwood, FL 34785.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Frank L. Keszei Funeral Home, Essling Chapel, 1117 Indiana Avenue, La Porte, Indiana.
