John C. Mills

John C. Mills, 64 of La Porte, Indiana passed away Monday, December 9, 2024.

John was born on August 7, 1960, in La Porte, Indiana to the late Richard and Mary (Watson) Mills.

John was a construction worker with Tonn and Blank Construction Company and Mills Construction Company. John was a huge Chicago and South Bend Cubs fan, where he attended many games over the years. As a devote Cubs fan, John was excited to attend a Chicago Cubs World Series game.

Surviving are his sisters, Karen Nieto, and Lorrie Mills of Tucson, Arizona; a brother, Michael Mills of Michigan City, Indiana; a sister-in-law, Becky Mills of La Porte, Indiana; and his former wife, Terri Bartos of La Porte, Indiana; and several nieces and nephews; several great nieces and nephews, an uncle, Charles Watson of Michigan City, Indiana; and a special cousin, Kathleen Morgan of Knox, Indiana.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Mariann Williams, brothers, Richard C (Dickie) Mills and Jerry J. Mills, his parents; and grandparents, Harlan and Florence (Lock) Watson, and Willard Clifton and Henrietta (Kieffer) Mills. 

Cremation has taken place with Frank L. Keszei Funeral Home, Essling Chapel in LaPorte, Indiana. A celebration of John's life will be scheduled this spring close to opening day of the Cubs 2025 season.
