Joan J. (Flotow) Houck

Joan J. Houck, 82, of Michigan City, Indiana passed away Wednesday, January 8, 2025.

Joan was born on January 12, 1942, in Michigan City, Indiana to the late Roy and Margaret (Pearson) Flotow.

Joan was a homemaker and had been employed with JC Penney.

Joan loved spending time with her family and friends.  She loved to cook, play cards, scrabble, go to area casino's and traveling to Disney World and Las Vegas.  She always had a smile and a laugh that was infectious.  She will be missed by all that knew her.

On February 3, 1962, Joan married Robert “Bob” C. Houck who survives with daughters, Lori (Dave) Williamson of Michigan City and Julie Hebb of Michigan City; grandchildren, Jeff (Stephanie) Williamson, Bobby (Marci) Williamson, Christopher Hebb, and Michael Hebb; six great grandchildren; a sister, Sandra Cook; brothers, Don (Laurie) and Ron (Louise) Flotow; and many nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 12 noon to 3 PM on Saturday, January 25, 2025, at Frank L. Keszei Funeral Home, Essling Chapel, 1117 Indiana Avenue, La Porte, Indiana.
