Jim "Sammy" H. Cleaton

Jim “Sammy” H. Cleaton, 64, of Michigan City, Indiana passed away Monday, January 9, 2023.

Jim was born February 24, 1958 in Niles, Ohio to the late Richard and Gloria (Hughes) Cleaton.

Jim worked as an inspector at Bethlehem Steel (Arcelor Mittal-Cleveland Cliffs) retiring in 2018. He served his country in the United States Navy. Jim enjoyed playing darts in a league at Chappy’s Stadium Inn, fishing, and music.

Jim is survived by a daughter, Stephanie (Jeffrey) Williamson of Michigan City, Indiana; a son, Jonathan (Ariana) Cleaton of Valparaiso, Indiana; and four grandchildren, Izzy, Gabe, James, and Elaine. He was preceded in death by his parents.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 1-4 p.m., Sunday, February 19, 2023, at Chappy's Stadium Inn, (Dining Room, All Ages), 2323 Wabash Street, Michigan City, Indiana 46360.   

Cremation has taken place. Arrangements have been entrusted to Frank L. Keszei Funeral Home, Essling Chapel, 1117 Indiana Avenue, La Porte, Indiana.
