Jennifer Lynn Clingenpeel, a beacon of kindness and unwavering faith, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on September 13, 2024, after a courageous years-long battle with cancer. Born on July 20, 1975, in La Porte, Indiana, Jennifer's life was a testament to her selfless nature and her passion for serving others.
Jennifer's early years were spent in the nurturing care of her parents, Gordon and Linda (Rohlfing) Grott of La Porte. She grew up alongside her devoted sister, Renee Collier of La Porte, and her supportive brother, Edward (Corinne) Grott of La Porte. Her family foundation instilled in her the values of love, compassion, and the importance of community, which she carried with her throughout her life.
A proud graduate of La Porte High School, Jennifer's love for learning led her to pursue higher education at Purdue University, where she earned her degree in Pharmacy in 1998. It was also the year she united in marriage with her soulmate, Gene Clingenpeel, on June 27, forming a partnership that was filled with mutual respect, laughter, and unwavering support.
Jennifer's professional journey as a pharmacist with Walgreens in Plymouth, Indiana, allowed her to extend her innate kindness to those in her care. Her gentle demeanor and warm smile became a comforting presence to the many who sought her guidance and assistance.
Jennifer's life was one of active service. She was an integral part of the Starke County 4-H, where her involvement with the 4-H Council showcased her commitment to nurturing the potential in young people. Jennifer's love for her Catholic faith was evident in all she did, living out her beliefs through her actions and her unwavering commitment to her community.
Her home was a sanctuary of love and warmth, where she and Gene raised their two sons, Paul and Theodore Clingenpeel. Jennifer was not just a loving mom; she was a guiding light, instilling in her boys the values of faith, kindness, and the joy of living a life in service to others.
Among her many passions, Jennifer found solace and joy in fiber arts. She cherished the process of spinning and dyeing wool to create her own yarn, a reflection of her patience and attention to detail. Her love for animals shone through this craft, as well as in the way she cared for all living creatures.
Jennifer's legacy is one of a faith-filled life, marked by her selfless acts of kindness. Those who knew her were touched by her gentle spirit and her unwavering dedication to her family, her faith, and her community.
As we say goodbye to Jennifer, we celebrate her life and the countless ways in which she made our world a better place. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her husband, Gene, her sons, Paul and Theodore, her parents, Gordon and Linda, her sister, Renee, her brother, Edward, and the many lives she touched with her generosity and love.
Jennifer Lynn Clingenpeel's journey on this earth may have concluded in Walkerton, Indiana, but the impact of her beautiful soul will continue to resonate with all who had the privilege of knowing her. May we find comfort in the knowledge that her spirit lives on, guiding us from above with the same love and grace she embodied every day of her remarkable life.
Visitation for Jennifer will be held from 4-7 PM (Central Standard Time), 5-8 PM (Eastern Standard Time), Thursday, September 19, 2024, at Frank L. Keszei Funeral Home, Essling Chapel, 1117 Indiana Avenue, La Porte, Indiana.
A Parish Rosary will be recited at 6 PM (Central Standard Time), 7 PM (Eastern Standard Time) on Thursday, September 19, 2024, at the Funeral Home.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM (Central Standard Time), 12 noon (Eastern Standard Time) at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 7732 IN-4, (Fish Lake) Walkerton, Indiana. Reverend Michael G. Heimer will officiate.
Family and friends may gather prior to the Mass at 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM (Central Standard Time), 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM (Eastern Standard Time) on Friday, September 20, 2024 at Frank L. Keszei Funeral Home, Essling Chapel.
Burial will follow at Door Village Cemetery.
