Jeanne Julia (Trzcinski) Iliff

Jeanne Julia Iliff, 81 of La Porte, Indiana passed away Saturday, August 3, 2024 after an accident on mother’s day this past May.

She was born on August 15, 1942 in South Bend, Indiana to the late Henry and Irene (Nagy) Trzcinski.

Jeanne worked in Quality Control with Howmet Aerospace for 34 years. She was also employed in the jewelry department with Fred Meyer Jewelers and J.C. Penny. She served 12 years on the La Porte City Counsel and was a member of the former Bass Lake (all female) Lions Club.

Jeanne’s passion for cooking was truly inspiring. She had a special love for Hungarian cuisine, which was evident in the way she meticulously prepared each dish. Her kitchen was always filled with the rich aromas of paprika, garlic, and simmering stews, creating an inviting and warm atmosphere.

What made Jeanne’s cooking truly special was her ability to infuse love and care into every meal. She believed that food was a way to bring people together, and her dinner table was always a place of laughter, stories, and cherished memories. Jeanne’s passion for Hungarian cooking was not just about the food itself, but about the joy and connection it brought to those around her.

On April 12, 1974 Jeanne married Marion W. Iliff who survives. She is also survived by her children, Lisa (Paul) Walb of La Grange, Indiana, Edward (Angie) Davis of Michigan City, Indiana, Kenneth (Shelia) Iliff of La Porte, Indiana; 18 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren; a brother, Michael (Amy) Trzcinski of South Bend, Indiana; and a sister-in-law, Beth Trzcinski of Fishers, Indiana.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Richard Davis (January 17, 2022); and siblings, Kathy Schinski and John Trzcinski.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Frank L. Keszei Funeral Home, Essling Chapel in La Porte.
