James Michael Herrold

James Michael Herrold, 74, of La Porte, Indiana, passed away peacefully on October 28, 2025.

Born on January 19, 1951, in La Porte, he was the son of the late James Henry Herrold and Betty Jane Graham.

James was a proud graduate of Westville High School and went on to serve his country honorably in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. Following his service, he worked as a skilled tool maker with Allis Chalmers in La Porte until the plant’s closing in 1983. He later made his home in Minnesota, a place he truly loved.

He is survived by his son, James (Rebecca) Herrold of Hawley, Minnesota; his beloved grandson, James Herrold; and his siblings, Leslie (Dennis) Lantz of La Porte, Ross (Michelle) Herrold of Chesterton, and Robert (Teffany) Herrold of La Porte.

Cremation has taken place with care entrusted to Frank L. Keszei Funeral Home, Essling Chapel in La Porte, Indiana.
